Week of 6/2/2017 entry from Bible Promises for You Men’s Group: Children
Scripture: 3 John 1:3-4 (added verse 3 in 2025 for context)
It gave me great joy when some believers came and testified about your faithfulness to the truth, telling how you continue to walk in it. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
Thought: Keep true to the law of the Lord, be a disciple and enjoy the fruit that you bear.
Application: By being bolder in my life I may get to enjoy the fruits the John is writing about. (Fruits: joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Galatians 5:22)
Response: Father, I pray that my mentors can see me as a disciple and be proud. I will walk with the spirit and do these things in your Sons name forsaking any glory.
Looking back Today (2025): Living in the truth 24-7 is DIFFICULT. I fail at something each day. However, the more that I reflect on what can be learned through unstoppable perseverance is that Jesus if waiting on us and willing to meet us exactly where we are today. The lesson may be to acknowledge our failures and keep trying to be a better person tomorrow. You don’t have to be better than the most faithful person that you know… stop comparing yourself. We improve by small changes that we make repeatedly resulting in BIG changes over time. DO SOMETHING SMALL TODAY!
