ACHIEVE SALVATION: THE POWER OF PROFESSING YOUR FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST

Week of 6/2/2017 entry from Bible Promises for You Men’s Group: Belief

Scripture: Romans 10:9-10

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Thought:  Faith by profession = salvation

Application:  Do not hide from sharing my relationship with Jesus with others in an effort to build God's Kingdom.

Response:    Father Make Me bold and my profession and clear my intention so that others are encouraged to see your grace and accept your son Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Looking back Today (2025):  This is a rather simple reflection.  I am not active with my life on Social Media, but because of my faith and thankfulness have chosen to share my journey with this blog.  In this modest way I am professing my faith and hoping to lead my daughter, family, and friends to a closer relationship with out Lord so that they too can find the comfort in their lives.  When this world is EATING YOU UP… remember he  HE is at your side. Press PAUSE on the world and listen, you may be surprised what you hear if you just talk with HIM.

    1. We have to keep chasing... if we stop running we won't finish the race!

The Bible verse below was the one Quinn chose to put on her softball glove and it is a good reminder for all of us to never quit!

'I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. '

  2. We have to be careful that we are speaking from the heart and not from the head. That is easier said than done because it can be hard to separate what we want from what God is calling us to DO

'A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. '

  4. Questions and Meditation:
I encourage everyone to ask these questions to yourself and then reflect.

Do I demonstrate and/or show love to my family and friends?

Do I visit or talk with my parents?

Am I more appreciative of my spouse than I was previously?

Am I grateful to my family for having put up with me up to this current time in my life?

Have I found real understanding with my child/children?

Do I feel that the friends I’ve found along the way in my faith journey are real friends?

Do I believe that they are always ready to help me, and do I want to help them if I can?

Do I care more now about other people than I have previously?

    Meditation for the Day:
Not what you do so much as what you are, that is the miracle-working power. You can be a force for good, with the help of God. God is here to help you and to bless you, here to keep company with you. You can be a worker with God. Changed by God’s grace, you shed one garment of the spirit for a better one. In time, you throw that one aside for a yet finer one. And so from character to character, you are gradually transformed.

    1. I've thought about this a lot since yesterday... you got into my head. It kept me coming back to the thought of "what would they want you to do." Essentially, how can I serve others.

Thought: Abandon you wants and desires for a few moments and just think of others.

'Do nothing out of selfishness or out of vainglory; rather, humbly regard others as more important than yourselves, each looking out not for his own interests, but [also] everyone for those of others.'

    2. Prayer for the Day:

I pray that I may serve as a channel for God’s power to come into the lives of others. I pray that I may try to understand them.
